While most people visit Florida to explore the innovative and futuristic rides at Disney and Universal Studios, the Sunshine State also gives you the opportunity to experience spectacular knights on horseback in 11th Century Spain.
Medieval Times, which is directly opposite the Bella Vida Resort, transports you to an era where knights do battle on horseback and clash swords with their rivals, while families are encouraged to pick sides and roar their favourites on to victory.
This captivating all-action show brings history to life for youngsters, as six brave knights compete to be crowned the Queen’s Champion. It is an awesome show of jousting and athleticism that is designed to see sparks fly, literally!
With beautiful horses on display, a live flight of the royal falcon and professionally trained knights using real weapons, visitors to the stunning castle will be treated to an authentic taste of vintage Spain.
This spellbinding experience will leave you questioning what year it is as a stunning musical backdrop and a jaw-dropping light show increases your emotions to the max.
Guests can also experience a feast that is fit for a king. A four-course meal, along with selected beverages, will be served before the fighting gets under way, giving you all the energy you need to cheer on your heroic knights. The royal banquet is fit for any future King and Queen, including soup, roast chicken, sweetcorn, potatoes, dessert and more. There is also a vegetarian option available too and a range of beverages designed to quench your thirst.
Admission to Medieval Times in Kissimmee starts at $67.95 for adults with children under 12 starting at $40.95. You can upgrade your tickets to include priority entry and VIP seating, together with extra perks. If one of your party is celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion we would highly recommend upgrading to the Celebration Package in order to receive a special mention during the show, a cake and other treats.
You can also benefit from cheaper rates if you are in a party of 10 or more, which is ideal for large groups staying at El Bella Villa.
The castle hosts two events each evening, starting from 6pm, and is open 75 minutes before showtime. There is also free on-site car parking, although you are only a 10-minute walk away from El Bella Villa.
Medieval Times originated in Majorca and Benidorm before it expanded its operation to the US. The castle in Kissimmee first lowered its drawbridge in 1983, becoming the inaugural site for the venture Stateside. It now has nine castles spread across the country.
